Manchester City versus Chelsea is without doubt the game of the weekend. Both teams are battling it out at the top of the table and are on a good run of form.
Chelsea are rejuvenated under Antonio Conte with help of his Italian style formation 3-5-2.
City are as expected under Pep Guardiola. Their slick passing style and playing out from the back has brought nine victories in the league this season.
The width of Chelsea team could be the deciding factor in how the game goes, Marcus Alonso and Victor Moses have been in a rich vain of form with a combined five goals and three assists.
Despite City being at home and therefore normally favourites they have dropped points at the Etihad Stadium, while Chelsea have rarely struggled away, creating an even affair.

Neither manger is likely to change their way of playing just for this clash with Pep being too stubborn despite mistakes from Stones and Bravo already this season by playing out from the back. While Conte has been successful so far with his own formation. Chelsea showed some vulnerabilities against Tottenham, for the first time this season, while playing their new system. They lacked tempo in the first half and were under constant high pressure from a Spurs 4-2-3-1 formation. City play a similar way and will create a midfield battle for domination.
Added with the revival of Yaya Toure and the constant threat of Sergio Aguero it will mean Chelsea’s back three with have their work cut out. The Argentina international has 16 goals in all competitions but equally impressive is Chelsea’s seven clean sheets. Even though their defence has been impressive, David Luiz has a error in him and the speed of Sterling, Aguero and Navas can exploit that.

A draw looks a cert as it would seem difficult to separate the two teams. However City’s frailties at home can be taken advantage of. Yet when the two time Premier League winners play well they simply seem unstoppable. The form book looks like Chelsea aren’t going to be beaten and City having drawn at home to Southampton and Middlesbrough sways my prediction.
Prediction: Chelsea Win 2-1
